You’ve no doubt seen him swigging on a glass of vino during the taping of his show and now you too can drink the exact wine Graham Norton does. That’s because it’s part of his own collection, expertly made with the help of a couple of New Zealand winemakers from Invivo Wines. This isn't the first year Graham has brought out wine but his 2017 collection is his biggest yet - having expanded to three different varieties including a rosé, sauvignon blanc and shiraz.
Graham's foray into wine-making started back in 2014, when Invivo convinced him to produce a limited-run of sav blanc - the 14,000 bottles were only available in New Zealand and were snapped up immediately. Fast forward three years and the 2017 fourth vintage has been expanded to include a rosé and shiraz (with a prosecco in the works) - and two million bottles will be produced so get your tastebuds ready. Speaking of tastebuds, they're all extremely delicious (we know because we had the really tough job of tasting them) and would pair beautifully with variety dishes so let's break it down for all us non-wine snobs who aren't quite sure how to pair food and vino.
First up the shiraz. This caramel-noted vino would complement dishes such as rogan josh, gnocchi gorgonzola or Mexican pulled pork.
Next the tropical sav blanc, which would best go with Asian cuisine, light chicken and seafood dishes - especially oysters and lime.
Lastly the rosé, which is ideal for turning into frozen rosé because it's so drinkable, not too sweet, not too dry. Juuuust right.
The range is available at Cellarmasters (BWS will stock it from October) and is priced at $14.99 per bottle though you have to buy the case... though we don't envisage this really being a problem.
